Heavenly Resolution

Because of the unprecedented amount of skullduggery, manipulative maneuverings and just plain lying practiced by the Bush administration, including the recent disgusting use of fake reporters, etc., I’ve drawn up a resolution for proposed use by the Democrats. They are trying to get their party together on certain platform issues and I think HONESTY is a good and appropriate subject to tackle these days. So here is my proposed first resolution:

Resolution

With Regard to Open and Honest Government

WHEREAS, a working meeting of disgruntled and concerned ghosts was held in Heaven, on February 16, 2005, in order to draw up resolutions for the Democratic party to consider, among other things the following was proposed:

WHEREAS, the government of the United States of America is determined to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people; and
WHEREAS, the current administration of the United States is the most closed and secretive administration that the United States has ever witnessed, its citizens are ill informed; and
WHEREAS, it is impossible for the US government to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people, as it was conceived and promised to be, if the people are thus ill informed,
The concerned Democrats of the Democratic party have

Resolved:

To recommend to the Democratic party that the Democratic party adopt this resolution to demand an open and honest government of the United States of America, with leadership that is held responsible and accountable, such responsibility and accountability to be observed and practiced by the leadership, without exception, including its relationship with the media and with its integrity involved therewith, giving access to all pertinent information necessary to maintain an open and honest government of the people, by the people and for the people:

Now, therefore I, Grandma Minutia, currently a citizen of Heaven, thereby recommend that this resolution, to maintain an open and honest government of the United States of America, be adopted by the Democratic party of the United States of America. Amen.
