July 10, 2006 Gone is all the big talk like “bring ‘em on” and “dead or alive” - all that swaggering braggadocio. Our president seems almost sane these days. Whereas before now he’s been playing his cards very recklessly and without following the rules, he is currently reviewing the cards in his hand. He thinks maybe he shouldn’t have bet so much on Iraq. He didn’t get the candy and flowers from the Iraqis that he had expected, or at least Cheney had expected, and he’s squandered tons of national treasure in dollars and lives.

So now he finds himself sitting with his back to the door, so to speak, as a bunch of other cowboys have become really irritated with him and will draw their guns on him if he makes any hasty move. What should he do? Should he invade North Korea? Should be attack Iran? Should he find and kill Bin Laden at long last? Should he continue his debacle in Iraq? Should he settle things down again in Afghanistan? What should he do? Well sweethearts, at least he’s taken off the big cowboy hat. Let’s all say a prayer for him. He needs it more than ever.
Love,
