He spoke last night, March 22nd, to an enthusiastic crowd at Vanderbilt University. I floated in to hear him. He said, “The reason the Republicans call names (insulting Democrats) is because they have nothing to say about balancing the budget, creating jobs or doing anything about health care or education.” “We need to talk about values and not be afraid of them,” he said. “We should never let anybody tell us we don’t respect faith.”

He asked if anyone of us in the crowd could be a better president than George W. Bush and the auditorium exploded. Everyone there was of the strong opinion they could manage better than G.W.Bush, any day of the week! God bless that crowd, and God bless Howard Dean, a man who isn’t afraid of the impassioned and fanatic leadership of G. W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Tom Delay, Alberto Gonzales, Pat Robertson, Don Rumsfeld, Rick Santorum and Judge Antonin Scalia, all hard core radical extremist right wingers who want to rule the world and everyone in it, including you and me, I’m afraid. Well, maybe not your Grandma, I’m safe up here in heaven now you know.
