Former Vice President Cheney, Titular Head of the Republican Party

Something strange is happening in Washington D.C. Your former vice president (and I do mean "vice") Cheney refuses to leave office, although he was voted out of office and although he does not enjoy any popularity whatsoever among the public at large. And, also, very strangely, no one is mentioning that Mr. Cheney's voice is actually unwanted regarding torture and his other various unpopular subjects.

Mr. Cheney persists in "speaking

out!" People hate to listen, but still - he "speaks out." We cover our ears, we move away from the press coverage, and still, he "speaks out!" He is refusing to get out of Joe Biden's chair. He refuses to move over and let the new Vice President Biden reign. And Cheny, regrettably, plain refuses to shut up! Therefore, dear ones, your Grandma Minutia feels she just must express her opinions too!

And here goes: We shouldn't shun Mr. Cheney because when he was young he never wanted to fight in any war and got five deferments so that he would not have to serve his country in time of war. We shouldn't shun Dick Cheney because he is now a physically feeble old man. No, that would be wrong. And we shouldn't shun Dick Cheney because of the obvious mean look on his face and his unpleasant snarl. That would be petty. After all, he can't help the way he looks, or comes across. BUT, sweethearts, we must take umbrage at what he says. Yes we should, and we must!

Poor Dick Cheney is pitifully speaking out for the "benefits" of torture and the US government's right to torture (with disregard for international law). He speaks out for criminality as being righteous in time of war, but only "the righteousness of criminality" pursued by the US government. Other foreign governments must keep their promises to the Geneva Convention, etc. Dick Cheney is a left-over, timeless Nazi. He just doesn't get it that he and his kind are not in charge of everything anymore. The Nazis were "voted out" by the whole world.

But still, Cheney, former Bush sidekick, persists in saying that only he and Mr. Bush saved the world after 9/11 (oh how he loves to say "9/11") and he insists that the Bush/Cheney torture policies, that were used, are valid and workable. He discredits the more rational General Powell's leadership and he says he prefers Rush Limbaugh as a true Republican leader. How crazy is this? Extremely crazy and dangerously so! Some people are saying Cheney should be sent to jail. But I think he should be, more properly, admitted into a good mental hospital, where he will be duly sedated and kept absolutely quiet!

Much love from your adoring,

Grandma Minutia
