The Burning Question

What is a "Glory Glutton?" - Haven't you always wanted to know? It isn't anything new, alas. There have been so many "Glory Gluttons" throughout history. But just lately "Neo-Glory-Gluttons" seem to at large, disturbing the peace and generally causing havoc here and abroad.

The definition of a "Glory Glutton" - It's someone, usually of the male gender, who thinks he has been appointed by God to change the world. I know. Can you imagine? He's really absurdly ambitious! He feels that he is appointed by the Almighty to change things. He is determined to share the bounty of the Almighty, passing along heaven's freedom and "democracy" to one and to all.

The tell-tail signs of a "Glory Glutton" - He is supremely confident. No matter how things are going for him, he remains cheerful and supremely confident. He listens to no one who isn't as cheerful as he is. He only listens to praise. He has a jaunty walk. He swings his arms triumphantly and waves to his fans from a distance, reassuringly. He winks mischievously sometimes, also reassuringly.

The noted drawbacks of "Glory Gluttonism" - The "Glory Glutton" can be extremely implusive and reckless. He tends to barge in where he isn't welcomed. He tends to conquer others with overwhelming power and then, when he is fully in charge, and everything is in chaos because of him, he seems completely stupified and baffled as to what to do next. "Glory Gluttons" can become very tiresome and unpopular in the end.
