White House Spin

It must be a hoot to be George W. Bush, saying anything, doing anything, being so upbeat and cheerful no matter what is really going on. Last December he said, looking very prideful on TV, "This administration has laid the foundation for greater prosperity and more jobs across America so every single citizen has a chance to realize the American dream."* Isn't that just a wonderful statement? Well it was all just talk!

The truth is that figures have been recently released, by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, to show that hiring in this nation is absolutely flat. And another assertion by Bush is that his tax cut of 2003 has made the economy better by creating jobs. Wrong! A report by the Economic Policy Institute counters this assertion as well.

The Bush/Cheney re-election website is boasting that the economy is now "stepping on the gas pedal" but in reality Bush and Cheney are "stepping on the gas pedal" spinning out for a hit and run. They hit the jobless and then they run...for high office.
