Paul O'Neill was highly respected when he headed Alcoa and when he served in the Nixon and Ford administrations, but G. W. Bush doesn't like him and fired him from his post as Secretary of the Treasury. O'Neill, it seems, wasn't delighted with some of the president's tax shenanigans.
So now former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill reports, in a new book just out, that the president decided to invade Iraq and get Saddam Hussein the minute he, Bush, took office. The President says, "who will listen to O'Neill? Nobody listened to him then (when he was in my Cabinet) and nobody will listen to him now."
Oh no? I'm listening!
