Martha Stewart is a little red herring to get our minds off real criminals, and why hasn't Ken Lay seen the inside of any court room?
Can't believe what happened to Martha yesterday. Poor Martha, who has she devastated? From whom has she taken away a pension or life savings? I think maybe "Martha” is an unlucky name!
I remember very well what atrocities happened to Martha Mitchell. She was punished for trying to out Richard Nixon by making late night phone calls because she was trying to avoid being killed by her husband, John. In her book, published just before her death, she described being given something, some injections, that made her very sick and unable to continue her notorious calls. This felon conviction that's been leveled against Martha Stewart is almost as bizarre as anything that happened to the late Martha Mitchell.
And come to think of it, our first First Lady, Martha Washington, had an unlucky time of it during the Revolutionary War. She is reported to have hated being First Lady and why not? She was required to accompany her husband, George, out into the field during the War where she lived in a tent, enduring those terrible winters that occurred at the time, as she sewed and mended for the troops. Poor Martha!
And think of Martha in the Bible! She didn’t have such a breeze of a life either. If you will recall her story, she was frustrated, unappreciated and worked to distraction! Let’s face it, there is something about that name Martha!
