Spain

It seems Spain, once the greatest power in Europe, has taken our little recalcitrant president “out to the woodshed.” In their election of a new prime minister, the good people of Spain have just replaced their conservative leadership with a liberal, who promises to go against Bush by immediately pulling all of Spain’s troops out of Iraq. Could this be the start of something big?

The Christian Science Monitor, a newspaper that tends to look on the bright side, is reporting that Bush has begun to use words like: cooperation, collaboration, diplomacy, participation and multilateralism. What’s this? “The New Bush?” Our presidential election is coming up in November and I’m remembering “The New Nixon,” who turned out to be the same old creepy guy.
