Spring begins today, waking up and bringing to life nature’s creatures of all kinds. From small, cheerful, melodious frogs to large and vicious rattling snakes, life is stirring in the grasses that are beginning to grow.

In Texas rattlesnakes are awakening and traveling sideways, as is their way, looping as they go. Fascinating to watch, but watch out, they are deadly! They are known as sidewinders!

I imagine that growing up in Texas, G. W. Bush has seen a rattlesnake or two, twisting and looping its way as it moves along, dodging and winding in an exotic route. Poisonous when it strikes, the snake always strikes preemptively and fatally. But at least it does its own killing; it doesn’t get others to do it.
