Certain people are speaking up. Today, March 24, 2004, Dick Clarke, who used to work at the White House as a top National Security Council official, told the 9/11 investigating committee that the president mishandled information leading up to 9/11. He just did. He showed a rather nonchalant interest in terrorism prior to 9/11 even though Mr. Clarke tried repeatedly to bring up the subject before 9/11. “Nonchalant” is my word, but at any rate the president seemed to refuse to consider the news that a terrorist attack might be an “urgent” matter before it happened on that fatal September 11th, 2001, alas!

I say “nonchalant” because “if the shoe fits!..”
