GRAND CANYON WOMEN: LIVES SHAPED BY LANDSCAPE

CityLink
This was a good link to find information about cities, towns, facilities, State and County Parke along the coast of Oregon.

This campground was managed by the U.S. Forest Service, and was only a short drive to the Monument and at a cost of around $13 per night feel that it is worth considering.

Siskiyou National Forest
US Forest Service web site on Siskiyou National Forest. This seems to be one of those areas we overlooked on our trip plannind, but would highly recommend it that if you are going into this area.

San Francisco cable cars
An interesting web site describing the San Francisco cable cars. Even if we missed the cable cars, we hope you will not make the same mistake we did. There are still two authentic cable lines running, on California Avenue and Powell Street. The Powell Street line has two branches -- Columbus, and Hyde, both of which wind up more-or-less at Fishermans' Wharf. The real cable cars are lots of fun to ride.

CRAB HOUSE "Home of the World Famous Killer Crab" TM
We went to the famed Fisherman's Wharf to tempt our taste buds with some great seafood, we tried the CRAB HOUSE "Home of the World Famous Killer Crab". The Dunguness Crabs were huge. We bought a 2.5 pounder to split, and we tore it up!

Journals of a Dream Coming True
Good site describing what Carl is planning for his journey "For years it had been my dream to explore the scenic beauty of the United States. For years it was "some day I'll hit the road to explore the roads less traveled." And when the big six-oh struck, the realization also set in that it's now or never.

These journals are logbooks and photo albums of my travels. I hope you will have fun following me around on my expeditions."

Oregon Parks and Recreational Department web site

Maps from the Oregon Parks and Recreational Department so you can see parks along each stretch of Hwy 101 at a glance here. Old link was bad I updated the link 11/2001.
