First Generation

1. Thomas¹ Bird birth date unknown. Thomas died February 1835 in Holmes County, OH.

He married Sarah Butler. Sarah was born in VA 1765. She was the daughter of Thomas Butler and Rebecca Daugherty. Sarah died 1825 in Holmes County, OH.

Thomas Bird and Sarah Butler had the following children:

child 2 i. Mary (Polly)² Bird. She married Moses Nowles in Coshocton County, OH, October 5, 1814.

child 3 ii. Sarah Bird. She married Isaac Draper in Coshocton County, OH, February 11, 1822.

child 4 iii. George W. Bird. He married Mary Henkil in Coshocton County, OH, November 19, 1822.

child 5 iv. Emmorilla Bird. She married James Norris in Holmes County, OH, November 7, 1833.

child 6 v. William Bird was born in VA July 3, 1791. He married Elizabeth Scritchfield in Coshocton County, OH, November 24, 1816.

child + 7 vi. Thomas B. Bird was born 1796.

child 8 vii. Elijah Bird was born in VA November 11, 1805.

child 9 viii. Isaac Bird was born in VA July 15, 1808. He married Susanna Williams in Holmes County, OH, September 23, 1830.

child 10 ix. Emmor Bird was born September 14, 1811. Emmor died January 28, 1863 in Iola, KS, at 51 years of age. He married Prudence Hamilton in Holmes County, OH, December 24, 1833.

Second Generation

7. Thomas B.² Bird (Thomas¹) was born in OH 1796. Thomas died 1840 in Holmes County, OH. Appears in 1840 Census. Died before wife's 2nd marriage - June 30, 1846.

He married Mary Williams in Coshocton County, OH, February 14, 1822. Mary was born in PA March 26, 1806. She was the daughter of Jehu Williams and Sarah Arbuckle. Mary died 1859 in Holmes County, OH.

Thomas B. Bird and Mary Williams had the following children:

child 11 i. Emerilla³ Bird was born in OH 1824. She married Samuel Harper in Holmes County, OH, March 31, 1839.

child 12 ii. Sarah M. Bird was born in OH 1825. She married Thomas Armstrong in Holmes County, OH, October 12, 1843.

child 13 iii. Mary Bird was born in OH 1826. Mary died May 21, 1899. She married Thomas Ashley Brown in Holmes County, OH, March 5, 1845.

child 14 iv. Martin Hartshorn Bird was born in OH 1828. Martin died February 5, 1894 in Holmes County, OH. He married Eliza Jane Alison April 27, 1848.

According to conflicting evidence, he married Martha Cutter Lewis September 24, 1874.

child 15 v. Isabella Bird was born in OH 1828. She married Joseph McDowell in Holmes County, OH, November 19, 1850.

child 16 vi. Jane Bird was born in Holmes County, OH December 21, 1833. Jane died December 31, 1923 in Strawn, KS, at 90 years of age. She married Robert Longshore in Holmes County, OH, February 17, 1852. Robert was born in Knox Twp, OH July 3, 1831. Robert died March 12, 1869 in Indianola, IA, at 37 years of age.

child 17 vii. John Thomas Bird was born in Holmes County, OH April 9, 1836. John died September 2, 1908 in Hill City, KS, at 72 years of age. He married Rachel Pritchard November 10, 1859.

child 18 viii. Stephen Bird was born in Holmes County, OH February 1840. Stephen died July 16, 1903 in Holmes County, OH.

child 19 ix. Thomas B. Bird was born in Monroe, OH October 24, 1841. He married Mary Strauss in Vermillion, IL, May 22, 1879.

BUTLER Family

First Generation

1. Thomas¹ Butler was born in Baltimore, MD 1706. Thomas died July 1764 in Cedar Creek, VA.

He married Jane ?. Jane was born in Frederick County, VA 1725. Jane died 1782 in Cedar Creek, VA.

Thomas Butler and Jane ? had the following child:

Second Generation

2. Thomas² Butler (Thomas¹) was born in Frederick County, VA May 6, 1747. Thomas died September 22, 1825 in Wayne County, OH, at 78 years of age.

He married Rebecca Daugherty. Rebecca was born in Frederick County, VA 1743.

Thomas Butler and Rebecca Daugherty had the following child:
