| Sat Day 1 | Arrive Shannon Airport where we will meet you and drive north into County Mayo and the lively town of Westport. We will spend the afternoon on Ireland's holiest mountain, Croagh Patrick, on the pilgrims' ancient trail. Overnight Westport. | |
| Sun Day 2 | Today we will hike along the cliffs of Achill Island, a remote and beautiful place. After a day full of adventure, we will go out for traditional Irish music played at Matt Molloy's pub (the flute player for the Chieftains). Overnight Westport. | |
| Mon Day 3 | This morning we will take the ferry to Clare Island, an intriguing destination with a population of 300. We will walk on the island and descend in the afternoon to the old lighthouse for a memorable night. The lighthouse has been converted into a guesthouse and will be our base for the night. | Tue Day 4 | After returning to the mainland, we will travel south into Connemara, and explore by foot this rugged area of quiet beauty. Our base for two nights will be in the heart of Connemara on the ocean's edge in a beautiful country house hotel. Overnight Connemara. | |
| Wed Day 5 | Today can be a rest day to enjoy the amenities of the hotel or for the energetic, a hike a long the Twelve Bens or Tully Mountain. Either choice will guarantee a day of beautiful scenery. Overnight Connemara. | |
| Thu Day 6 | From the airstrip in south Connemara, we will fly to Inismor, the largest of the Aran Islands. We will walk along the south cliffs and explore the geology and flora of the island and see some of Europe's most dramatic archaeology. Overnight Inismor. | |
| Fri Day 7 | We will return to the mainland and have a few hours to visit the Gaelic cultural capital of Galway. We will spend the afternoon walking in the Burren of County Clare and discovering some of the mysteries of this rocky landscape. We will celebrate the week with a farewell dinner. Overnight Ballyvaughan. | |
| Sat Day 8 | We will take you to Shannon Airport for flights home. |
