County Kerry--The Ancient Kingdom of Ciar
A walking tour at the edge of Europe

Sat. Day 1 Arrive Shannon where we will meet you and drive to Killarney. We will spend the afternoon on a walk along the Kerry Way from the Black Valley to Kenmare. Overnight Kenmare.
Sun. Day 2 We will spend the day walking on the wild and rugged Beara Peninsula--some of the most scenic walking in Ireland and home to the Bronze Age Irish. Overnight Kenmare.
Mon. Day 3 Today we will have a walk on the Kerry Way along the tranquil Caragh river valley to the oceanside village of Glenbeigh. We will transfer to the Dingle Peninsula and the lovely village of Annascaul. Overnight Annascaul.
Tue. Day 4 Today we will walk right out of our guesthouse past Annascaul Lake and through the valley to the village of Cloghane. We will have a picnic lunch by a waterfall and a pint at the end of the road. Overnight Annascaul.
Wed. Day 5 An amazing day ahead as we stride along the backbone of the Conor pass with its beautiful mountain and ocean views. We will descend into Dingle Town, a small fishing village which is home to a thriving Gaelic lifestyle. Overnight Dingle.
Thu. Day 6 Today we will spend the day on the Great Blasket Island and walk in the footsteps of the people who inhabited this amazing island until 1950. We will also explore some of the peninsula's rich archaeological sites. Overnight Dingle.
Fri. Day 7 For thousands of years the great mountain of Brandon has been a pilgrims' site and today we will follow the pilgrims' path in our ascent of the mountain. We will have a farewell evening in Dingle with dinner and music. Overnight Dingle.
Sat. Day 8 We will take you to Shannon for flights home.



Pace:
Two to six hours of walking per day. Easy to moderate. More difficult walks can be arranged on this itinerary for those who are interested.
Rate:
US$1950.00 per person double occupancy.
Single supplement $300.00.

Rate includes: Rate based on a minimum for four people. Tours will depart weekly March through October. This tour can be done back to back with Celtic Islands and Highlands.
