Super Saturday

On Saturday, September 7, we will be combining an all-day seminar with an All-Star house concert. The seminar will be led by hit songwriter Jason Blume (“Change My Mind”).  Jason has had success in both the pop and country markets with cuts by artists such as John Berry, Britany Spears, and the Backstreet Boys. Jason will talk about lyric and melody writing and the music business.

In the evening, there will be a concert to benefit the NSAI Los Angeles Regional Workshop.   The performers will
include hit songwriters Jerry Fuller (“Young Girl“), Jeff Silbar (”Wind Beneath My Wings“), Wendy Waldman ("Save The Best For Last") plus Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps.  There will also be some surprise cameos: Jason Blume, Kenny Edwards (Stone Ponies) and others.

The seminar will be held from 10:00am-5:00pm at Kulak’s Woodshed, 5230 1/2 Laurel Canyon Blvd., North Holly-
wood. The cost is $35 for NSAI members and $45 for non-members if paid in advance; $50 at the door. To register, send a check made out to Craig Lackey, 1045 3rd Street #205, Santa Monica, CA 90403.  Include your phone number and email address.

Jason will also be available on Sunday for one-on-one consultations. There will only be (7) slots available - - 9:00am, 10:00, 11:00, 1:00pm, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00pm.  The fee is $95/one hour.  In that time he typically does in-depth critiques of three or four songs (or lyrics)and answers questions. Private consults can be booked by calling Jason’s assistant, Neil @ (615) 665-2381 or via e-mail to: JBSongdoc@aol.com.

The Saturday evening concert is a benefit to support the NSAI Los Angeles Regional Workshop.  It will be held at
the home of Alan & Debbie Nocita, 601 E. Orange Grove Ave., Sierra Madre, CA 91024 .  Prior to the concert, there will be an optional wine-tasting. The admission is $15 for the concert only and $30 for the concert plus wine-tasting.  VIP tickets, which include special seating and a cocktail party with the performers, are $75. A VIP table of 8 is $400.  Register in advance for both the seminar and the concert and receive a $10 discount on the package.
