The NSAI
bulletin for the Los Angeles area Workshop
March-April 2002
Getting There From Here
Is it possible to go from Los Angeles NSAI workshop participant
to staff writer with a hit song on the charts? On Saturday, April 13, we
are proud to present an all-day seminar with Tim James, a writer who has
done exactly that.
Tim, and NSAI Los Angeles Regional Workshop success story, now
writers for Nashville publishing company Paddock Music. His song,
“My List”, was recorded by Toby Keith and is still rising up to the top
of the Billboard charts.
In the morning portion of the seminarTim will talk about how he got
his publishing deal and his first hit. He will also present tips
on writing and networking. In the afternoon, Tim will offer song critiques.
Priority for critiques will go to the first 20 people to register for the
event.
The event will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Hallenbeck’s General
Store, 5510 N. Cahuenga Blvd, North Hollywood.
Cost is $10 for NSAI members and $20 for non-members. To register in
advance, send a check payable to Craig Lackey, 1045 Third St., #205,
Santa Monica, CA 90403.
