Sunday, March 2, 3:00-6:00pm at Kulak's Woodshed, 5230 Laurel
Canyon - GUEST SPEAKER Steve Fox. Steve Fox lives two lives.
In one, this Nashville-based songsmith writes full-time for his publisher,
Cal IV, and in the other, he enjoys success on the charts and as a performer
in Canada. As a writer, Steve was recently honored with a prestigious
ASCAP award (for having co-penned Montgomery Gentry's "Daddy Won't Sell
the Farm" for which Steve also received U.S. gold and platinum awards),
as well as having won a SOCAN Song of the Year award, and he has dozens
of cuts placed with top-charting Canadian artists. As a performer, he's
had a string of top ten hits in Canada (where his CDs are distributed through
EMI), five music videos on CMT, and aside from headlining at folk and country
festivals across the country, he has toured as an opener for Kenny Rogers,
Dwight Yoakum and others. He won the Male Vocalist of the Year Award
at the 2002 CCMA's (Canadian Country Music Assoc.), and has been nominated
for numerous songwriting and performance awards. Steve's favorite place
is on a stage - whether it's the Bluebird Cafe, a festival, concert hall
or songwriter workshop. And...he's the most genuine, happy and funny!
guy you'd ever wanna meet. We hope you'll come out and meet Steve and
hear him share his experience and tips as a songwriter, and some of his anecdotes
from the road. Steve will critique songs on a first come first served
