DEC. '96, JAN.-FEB. '97 WORKSHOP
SCHEDULE
- Sunday, Dec. 8, 5-8PM at Craig Lackey's Residence, Holiday Guitar
Pull and Pot Luck Dinner. Come join us for this year-end guitar
pull and holiday gathering. Bring some songs to share with the group and
some food or beverage, and bring your spouse or significant other! Note
the new location for this event! Email craiglack@aol.com
for directions or more information.
- Sunday, Jan. 5, 5-8PM at Musician's Institute, Goal Setting for
the Organizationally Impaired. Do you love the creative side of
songwriting and hate the business part of your career? Do you sometimes
realize that two weeks or two months have flown by and you haven't written
a thing? Perhaps you know you should be networking and pitching your songs,
but you just never seem to have the time. If this sounds like you, please
attend this workshop. It will give you the tools you need to boost your
songwriting career to the next level while balancing income, family, community,
and personal goals.
- Sunday, Jan. 16, 5-8PM at Musician's Institute - Group Song Critiques.
Come get feedback on that new hit song you've been working on. Bring one
song (on cassette or play it live) and 20 copies of the lyric. We also
critique lyrics only or music only.
- Sunday, Feb. 2, 5-8PM at Musician's Institute - Building Your
Success Team. Any great achievement takes teamwork. In architecture,
great buildings may be designed by a single architect, but it takes a team
of financiers, city planners, builders, engineers, designers, etc. to make
the dream a reality. The same principle is true for creating a hit song.
It takes a writer, publisher, artist, manager, record company, producer,
radio programmers, etc. to bring the product to the listeners and create
a Number One hit. This workshop will show you what it takes to create a
songwriting success team, and how to motivate your team members to bring
your dream to life
- Sunday, Feb. 23, 5-8PM at Musician's Institute - Group Song Critiques.
Bring a song or a lyric and 20 copies of the lyric sheet.
Workshop Location
Unless otherwise noted, workshops are held from 5-8 p.m. at Musician's
Institute, 1655 McCadden Place, just off Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood.
