Mechanical Royalty rates for 1998-2006

As of Jan. 1, 1998, the statutory rate for mechanical royalties in the US will be to 7.1 cents or 1.35 cents/minute. This is the royalty to be paid for each record manufactured and sold after Jan. 1, 1998, unless contractually agreed to otherwise by the copyright owner and the record company.
