Bible Baptist Christian School

We would like to recommend a good Christian school to you and your family. It is called Bible Baptist Christian School. Bible Baptist is building a new campus at 2780 Mt. Carmel Road in Hampton. Our child attends there and we are very pleased with their program. Bible Baptist Christian School offers a sound academic program in an environment that is ideal for any boy or girl. Our children receive important moral training that help to develop character. B.B.C.S. offers grades K-4 through grade 12. Our children have qualified teachers who really care about them and their individual needs.

Philosophy And Program

As a ministry of Bible Baptist Church, we offer a program for children from kindergarten to grade 12. Junior and Senior High students receive a strong college preparatory education with teachers that are qualified to teach high school level courses. BBCS offers a variety of sports and fine arts programs as an accredited member of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools and American Association of Christian Schools. BBCS admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin. We also have a well supervised before and after care program that provides a valuable service to parents. For further information about our school, please call 478-6747 between. 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

The term "Christian Education" is used to distinguish it from other kinds of education, or to emphasize the fact that education needs to be distinctively Christian.

Education for the Christian family is not a trial and error issue. It has clearly defined objectives as well as a methodology by which they are achieved.

The education of our children is mandated according to Proverbs 22:6. We are to "Train up a child in the way he should go..." Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Psalm 78:1-8; and Galatians 4:1,2 put the responsibility for the education of the children squarely upon the shoulders of the father. Not to provide a proper education for our children is to disobey God and to sin against the child.

For this reason the Christian school ministry of Bible Baptist Church was begun in 1979--to aid parents in their responsibility to properly educate their children. It is an integral and inseparable ministry of this Church.

The Christian school is in cooperation with the home, training young people in the principles of self discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and Christian leadership. The school stands without apology for the Old-time Gospel and Biblical standards of morality and behavior.

The goal of the school is not to reform, but to train Christian youth of every ability. For this reason, attendance is a privilege and not a right.

A student handbook is available on request from the school office.

Questions concerning curriculum, tuition and scheduling of the K--12 program can be answered by requesting an interview with the school principal.

It is hoped that Christian school along with the many other ministries of this Church will meet a specific need and enhance your family's ability to walk more closely with God.

History

Bible Baptist Christian School was started in 1980 with 25 pupils (K - 2nd) and the Lord indicated His leading by providing two veteran teachers with years of experience. The pastor served as principal the first three years.

As the school grew it became evident that a full time principal was needed. Greg Jeffers served in that capacity for the next three years, and the enrollment went up to 150 as a grade was added each year.

With the beginning of junior High, the Pastor appointed a school board that would set policy and give direction for the future while being accountable to the church. One of their first acts was to seek out a man of adequate training and experience to lead the school as it grew into a high school.

The man chosen was Timothy R. Lee who held a Master's Degree in school administration and many years experience as a teacher and administrator. Mr. Lee came in 1986 to oversee the day to day operation of the school. He has provided excellent leadership to this day.

The final year in Riverdale saw the enrollment grow to 250, and the seventh class of seniors completed their graduation requirements. The majority of the graduates these years have gone on to attend Christian colleges; two of them have returned to teach at BBCS; more are expected.

The school was founded to glorify God and to prepare His children for a life of service to others. Therefore, the academic excellence, with opportunity for training in fine arts and athletics, is provided in a spiritual atmosphere.

With the addition of our commercial kitchen we are now equipped to prepare meals to meet our program needs. Our future plans for BBCS include the building of our gym, finishing athletic fields, playground and an improved computer lab.
