Welcome To The World Of HkrTrash

There's a race of men that don't fit in,
A race that can't sit still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin,
And they roam the world at will.
They range the field and rove the flood,
And they climb the mountain's crest;
Their's is the curse of the gypsy blood,
And they don't know how to rest.

Robert Service
"The Men That Don't Fit In"

My name is Jim Sneed. I am an avid hiker, backpacker and camper. Since I live in the Deep South, I am comfortably able to pursue these activities year round. I do most of my hiking in the eastern United States. I have hiked most of the trails inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, as well as extensive areas of the Citico Creek Wilderness in eastern Tennessee. I have also hiked the 200 mile Ozark Highlands Trail in northwestern Arkansas.
Closer to home, I do most of my hiking in the Black Creek Wilderness in southern Mississippi, and in the Cheaha Wilderness in northern Alabama.

My current goal is to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, which runs 2160 miles from Springer Mt. in Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in Maine. So far, I have made it from Springer to the Mt. Rogers Headquarters in southern Virginia. Only about 1625 more miles to go!
