About my Intruder

I've had several people e-mail me with questions about Suzuki Intruders. I have not been able to find a site devoted to this and I am not a motorcycle expert. But I do have some comments on the bike. If you have any info on Intruders please contact me at: hume@mindspring.com.

I have an '84, 700cc. I love this bike! It is hard to get used parts for (mine had been wrecked, neglected and needed parts when I got it).

Here is what I like about it:
  • a) A comfortable ride. I have ridden 14 hr days with no problem.
  • b) Low center of gravity
  • c) Reliable. I have gone so many places ( a couple of times finding myself way back in North Carolina lost on dirt roads and once one turned into a wooded path!) in so many conditions (rain, hail, flatlands, mountains, HOT and COLD weather, and so on) and it has never given me a problem.
  • d) It just looks damn cool!
  • Things I don't like:
  • a) Spoked wheels. A pain to clean.
  • b) If you like to work on your bike your self it's difficult because so much is crammed under the seat and tank. It took me 2 hours to change my air filter and longer to track down a sort in a wire.
  • c) Small rear seat. Even tho I have never had a problem finding a girl to go riding with me, my ex-wife sure complained alot about that back seat!
  • d) No center stand.
  • Sure I have some things listed that I don't like. But I love this bike. The only problems I've had stem from it's wreck and neglect of the previous owner.
