Character Education works to create a positive school climate by uniting the community, students and staff. Big Creek Elementary will begin by choosing one positive character quality per month and concentrating on that quality the whole month. Teachers will reinforce these concepts in the classroom, counselors will plan guidance lessons tailored to these qualities and you as parents are encouraged to participate by talking to your child about the "word of the month" and what it means. The following are a list of qualities that teachers and parents consider important to healthy character development. Here are the qualities we will concentrate on this year:
