ARLINGTON - Thelma G. Mayes, a retired department store employee, died Saturday at a Mansfield nursing home. She was 87.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Hugh M. Moore & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mayes was born in California and had lived in Arlington for 45 years. She had worked for Mitchells' Department Store in Arlington for 10 years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Senior Citizen Group.

Survivors: Two sons, Robert Mayes Sr. of Arlington and James A. Jordon of Bryson; stepson, C.H. "Buster" Mayes of Odessa; four daughters, Mildred Hayes of Springfield, Va., Jerry Haney of Austin, Judy Locke of Spring and Carol Hayman of Blanchard, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Thelma Faith Goodman and Arthur Wilson "Jerry" Jordan had the following children:

Thomas Rector Mayes (son of Willis W. Mayes and Martha A.) was born on 14 May 1893 in Texas. He died on 26 Jul 1974 in Tarrant County, Texas.⁽²⁴¹⁾ Thelma Faith Goodman and Thomas Rector Mayes had the following children:
