MRS. MABLE BELL

Mrs. Mable Blanche Hunter Bell, 63, a former Trent resident, died at 9 p.m. Friday in John Sealy Hospital in Galveston after a lengthy illness. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Starbuck Chapel.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.

She was born April 21, 1909, in Midland County and moved with her parents to the Blair community in the early 1920's. She married Loyd E. Bell Oct. 31, 1925, in Blair. They moved to Trent in 1945. He died Sept. 25, 1958 and she moved to Roswell, N. M. in 1959.

She is survived by eight sons, Lloyd of Midland, Jimmie, Joe Earl and Larry Wayne of Las Cruces, N.M., Vernon of White River, Ariz., B. L. of Houston, Ronnie James of Roswell, and Elmo of Capitan, N.M.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Cloda McAlister of Portland, Maine, Mrs. Dorina Fite and Mrs. Ruth Rhymes, both of Angleton; four brothers, Emmitt Hunter of Midland, James Hunter and Willie Hunter of Portland, Ore., and J. J. Hunter of South Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Beth Baldwin of Fort Worth; 44 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was married to Loyd Ellsworth Bell (son of Nimrod Imgram Bell and Delila "Lila" Lewallen) on 31 Oct 1925 in Blair, Taylor, Texas.(1068) Loyd Ellsworth Bell was born on 8 Apr 1900 in Caddo Mills, Hunt, Texas. He appeared on the census on 28 Apr 1930 in JP #4, Jones County, Texas.(1646) He died on 25 Sep 1958 in Merkel, Taylor County, Texas. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, Taylor County, Texas.(1647)

LOYD E. BELL DIES AT 58

MERKEL (RNS) -- Loyd E. Bell, 58, retired farmer of the Trent and Merkel area, died Thursday at 11:20 a.m. in Sadler Clinic Hospital. He had been critically ill for eight days.

Born April 8, 1900, in Hunt County, Mr. Bell moved to Mulberry Canyon in 1925. On Oct. 31 of the same year he married Mable Blanche Hunter of Blair, and they have lived in the Merkel and Trent communities since that time. Mr. Bell retired from farming about three years ago.

Funeral will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Starbuck Chapel with the Rev. A. H. Williams, pastor of Trent Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery here.

Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Loyd E., Jr., of Portland, Ore., Jimmie Dwight of Big Spring, Vernon Leslie and Burnard Lyle of Sweetwater, and Joe Earl, Larry Wayne, Elmo Lee and Ronnie James, all of Trent; three daughters, Mrs. Leroy Rhynes of Abilene, and Mary and Darinda Bell of Trent; 19 grandchildren; his father, N. I. Bell of Greenville; one brother, O.V. Bell of Levelland; and two sisters, Mrs. Jim Boone of Paducah and Mrs. Freeman McCormick of Greenville.
