2737. Richard Eugene Bell was born on 10 Jun 1958 in Portland, Oregon. He died on 10 May 2008 in Midland, Midland County, Texas. He was buried in Resthaven Cemetery, Midland, Texas.

Richard Eugene Bell, 49, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 10, 2008. He was born June 10, 1958 in Portland, Oregon, to Loyd E. Bell and Nora Helen Bell.

He has lived in Midland since 1970. He met and later married Shirley Jean Washburn on January 30, 1976 in Midland.

Over his life he has worked for Tuboscope, Midland Roustabout and Kingdom Transportation. At the time of death, he was employed with Lyden Transportation under J.B. Cason. He and his wife worked as a team for 9 years. Richard "Dicky" was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather "papa" who was so devoted to and so proud of all his family. He met no stranger. He loved to make everyone laugh.

Richard was a member of Cotton Flat Baptist Church, where he loved to be when he came home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Thomas Bell and his in-laws Mildred and L.R. "Shorty" Washburn.

Richard leaves behind his wife, Shirley Jean Bell of Midland; A daughter, Tasha Ann Riddle and husband Larry also of Midland; A son, Richard Lea Bell and fiancée Taryn Puckett of Ft. Hood, TX. Three granddaughters: Kathryn, Kori Beth and Kieran Riddle. He is also survived by four brothers: Robert Loyd Bell, Donald Lynn Bell and wife Tracey, Ronald Glenn Bell and wife Paula and Doyle Edwin Bell all of San Angelo; Three sisters: Norma Jean Burt and husband Billy Alan of Fairborn, Ohio, Lestera "Janie" Beale and husband Rex and Patricia "Trish" Wright and husband Mickey; His in-laws that meant so much to him: Dale Washburn, Phyllis and Gary Dyke, David and Carol Washburn and Terry Hasley; Numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at Cotton Flat Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Holeman and associate, Pastor Justin Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
