BILLY W. HUNTER DIES AT HOUSTON

Billy W. Hunter, 28, of Midland died late Wednesday in a Houston hospital where he had been a patient about three weeks.

A native of Merkel, Hunter moved to Midland at an early age and lived here until 1951 when he moved to San Angelo. He returned to Midland in 1959.

Services will beheld at 2 p.m. Friday in Newnie W. Ellis Chapel, with the Rev. James W. Evans of Crestview Baptist Church officiating.

Hunter was employed here in the research and development department of Chaparral, inc.

He is survived by his widow, Brenda; two sons, Terry and Jerry, all of Midland; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. J. J. Hunter of Charleston, S. C.; two brothers, Gene Hunter of Midland and Dowin of Chesapeake, Va., two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Daugherty of Charleston and Mrs. John Beal of Raleigh, N. C, and his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. H. L. Hart, Midland.

He was married to Brenda Gayle Wilkerson (daughter of Jodie Ferrell Wilkerson and Billie Jean Whaley) on 14 Oct 1963 in Midland, Midland County, Texas.⁽¹⁷⁶¹⁾ Brenda Gayle Wilkerson was born on 21 Nov 1947 in Fannin County, Texas.⁽⁶⁴³⁾ She died on 15 May 2010 in Midland, Midland County, Texas. "Brenda Richardson, 62, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Midland Texas. She was born November 21, 1947 to Jodie Ferrell and Billie Jean Wilkerson, in Bonham, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, James Richardson, sons; Terry Hunter and wife Debra of Midland, Jason Hayes of Dripping Springs, Nathan Rowell of Midland, Heath Richardson and wife Carol of Midland; grandchildren, Zachary and Austin Hunter of Midland, Gage and Abigail Richardson of Midland. Other survivors include mother, Billie Whaley of Bonham, one brother, Kermit Wilkerson and wife Sandy of Rowlett; one sister, Connie Harrison of South Beach, Florida, and three nephews.

Mom, you will not be forgotten; you will live on in your children and grandchildren. God may have seen fit to call you to the "Promised Land", but our memories of you will live on...we promise. Please find strength in God, and also find strength in knowing you are loved and will continued to be loved and missed. Please find Billy Wayne and tell him he is missed. Remind Jerry that we have some catching up to do some day. Hold Katelyn in your arms and tell her that her Mama and Daddy miss her every day. Tell Pawpaw not to spend too much time out in the garden.
