22 Mar 1922 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated in 1949 in University of
Texas (BBA). He died on 15 Jan 1994 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He was
buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.
Mr. Hunter was an active genealogist and contibuted a great deal of information
to this report.

HUNTER
OSCAR HENRY HUNTER, JR., 71, died at home surrounded by family Saturday, January
15, 1994, after a long battle with cancer. Oscar was born March 22, 1922, in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was the son of Oscar and Blanche Hunter of Baytown.
He has been a lifetime resident of Baytown and Galena Park. He served in the
Navy in the South Pacific during WW II aboard the USS Yorktown. While stationed
in Pensacola, FL, he married Julia Etta Beatty of Centralia, Illinois on February
14, 1945. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1949 with a
BBA degree. He retired from the engineering department at Brown & Root.
He has been a longtime member of the Northshore Ward of the Church of Je-sus
Christ Latter Day Saints.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, David Blaine Hunter and brother,
James Sanders Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Hunter of Galena Park; son and daughter-in-law,
Ty and Becky Hunter of Houston; son and daughter--in-law, Joe and Cassy Hunter
of Houston; son, Michael Hunter of Galena Park; son, Patrick Hunter of Galena
Park; grandchildren, Jennifer Hunter, Amy Hunter, Windy Walthall, Haley Walthall,
Andrew Hunter and Helen Hunter; sister, Doris Voss and husband Don of Garland,
Texas; sister, Jean Lestarjette and husband A. G. of Baytown; and numerous nieces,
nephews and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospital,
to Dr. Bertini and to Dr. Harris, Dr. Bischoff and their respective staff. Also
to Hope Cook of V.N.A. Hospice and to Carol King. Services to be held Tuesday,
January 18, 1994, at the Navarre Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M., with the Rev. A.
G. Lestarjette officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in
Baytown. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, January 17,
1994, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. His body will lie in state at the funeral
home starting at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 16, 1994.

He was married to Julia Etta Beatty (daughter of James
K. Polk Beatty and Dona) on 14 Feb 1945 in Pensacola, Florida.
Julia Etta Beatty was born on 23 Oct 1922 in Centralia, Marion County,
Illinois. She died on 20 Oct 2004 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.

HUNTER
JULIA ETTA HUNTER, formerly of Galena Park, passed away peacefully at her Houston
home on October 20, 2004, just three days shy of her 82nd birthday. Preceded
in death by her husband, Oscar H. Hunter, Jr., and son, David Blaine Hunter.
Survived by Ty and Becky Hunter, Mike and Kathy Hunter, Patrick Hunter, Joe and
Cassy Hunter, and numerous dearly loved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At the request of our dear mother, private arrangements for cremation have been
made. A private memorial will be held on October 30. In lieu of flowers, donations
in her name may be made to the building fund of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church,
13125 Indianapolis, Houston, Texas, 77015. Special thanks to the owners and staff
of Clousten House.

He died on 28 Mar 1988 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.

HUNTER
DAVID BLAINE HUNTER, Galena Park, Texas, born November 7, 1948 in Austin, Texas,
died March 29, 1988 in Veterans Hospital in Houston. Graduated from Galena Park
High School 1967. Attended Stephen F. Austin College and Lee Junior College.
Served in Air Force Bond 1969-1973. Stationed in the Philippines, and also performed
in several countries in Asia.
Survived by: Parents, Oscar and Julia Hunter of Galena Park; brothers, Ty Hunter
and wife, Becky, and their children, Jennifer, Amy, Wendy and Haley of Houston,
Joe Hunter and wife, Cassy and their son, Andrew of San Antonio, Michael Hunter
and Patrick Hunter of Galena Park; also, several aunts and uncles and many kind
and loving friends.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1, at Howard-Glendale Funeral
Chapel at 1015 Federal Road, with the Rev. George Phifer of Church in the City
officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lee Adams of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
Burial will be in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Stuebner-Airline in Houston.
