Service for Heather Joann Griffeth, 17, of Decatur, was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Sycamore Baptist Church with Tim Watson officiating. Burial was to be in Sycamore Cemetery. She died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at her home after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 7, 1984, in Lewisville. She graduated from Slidell High School on April 3, 2002, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, John Edward Hunter Jr.

She is survived by her parents, Gregory and Jo Ann Griffeth of Decatur; a brother, Colton Griffeth of Decatur; grandparents, Nolen and Rosemary Griffeth of Decatur; great-grandmother, Mary Hunter Bowles of Granbury; an aunt, Barbara Woolverton of Gainesville; and two uncles, Derek and wife Carol Griffeth of Decatur and Shane Griffeth of Lake Dallas.

Pallbearers were to be Brian Moore, Ronnie Gilmore, Leland Hardcastle, Jeff Harner, Ricky Tompkins and Buck Milacek.
