Subject: The Saga of a Steel Magnolia in Texas.

Hi All,

The Devil Made Me Do It! It's the only explanation that I can think of at the moment. It's not a full moon or any other astral phenomenon that made me do it. It was the lure of pizza that finally got to me. Not just any pizza, a large, double cheese pizza. Friday night found me savoring a slice of the forbidden substance with a champagne flute of the finest generic black cherry soda that money could buy. :-))) Sometimes life is very good.

The temperature moderated this week. It is amazing how cool 89 degrees can feel. Oh my. I think I've got this heat thing whipped.

The Nordic Track and I are still having our twice daily encounters. It is definitely working. There has to be something good to come from all of that time spent skiing to whatever I taped overnight...usually George of the Jungle.

Other than finding out where the closest library is, I still haven't done a lot of exploring around here yet. It's been too hot, and I miss my trekking buddy. The family will be joining me soon and I am looking forward to it.

The only other thing of significance from the last week is that I have begun my next book. This one is a sci-fi thriller. I've been tasting the idea for about five years and it decided to come to the surface, so it's time to do it. I'll let ya know how it decides to go.

Take care and write when you can.
