Hi All, Well, Antelope Island was kind of a bust. We went out yesterday and drove around for a while. You drive out over a six mile long causeway to reach the island. Yes, it's six miles out in The Great Salt Lake and they charge a dollar a mile for the drive. That is a six mile drive over the smelliest road you have ever been on. It's like Eau de Dead Eel concentrate. Awful!!! Well the island has almost no trees so you can see all over. We stopped at a isolated picnic table and had a picnic. Katherine's lesson of the day involved chicken anatomy. It fried up nicely and she got an A+. The tables all have shelters here, otherwise you would bake your brains in a hurry. The silence was wonderful, the wind never stops blowing and it's about the only sound you hear. There were a few people boating and swimming at designated areas. We couldn't understand why, it looked like black soup up close to the beach. They had the road to the other side of the island closed off and so we resorted to going out to the bison corral for entertainment. Now, I had fun here. The road was bad, just right for the truck, and I had fun navigating it. Katherine hung on and yelled a lot. (She lies, she lies!!! From Kat) We had a great time. The bison/buffalo were in corrals with huge posts and lots of barbed wire. Could it be that the beasties made periodic breaks for freedom? Who knows. Well, we stopped at a clapped out trailer and got ice-cream. An unexpected surprise. It was great, and the single scoops could have substituted for triples any where else. Katherine says that they do things big out here. After about an hour, we left. Another long drive on Isle de Odor. We're currently looking for more stuff to get into and will let you know what it is when we survive the fun.

It rained this morning and ruined my plans for an early morning hike. You do not hike in the mountains here during or after a rain storm if you are smart.

Take care and write when you can.

See ya soon.
