PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE   

 

Star Reach Productions 32 Channel / 32 Track Studio, Anderson, SC               1989 to Present

Recording Studio Manager & Operator

Responsible for all equipment purchase decisions. Setup all studio equipment to include midi and audio wiring cables and confirmed that all equipment was midi synced properly.

§         Managed daily operation for recording studio, including scheduling appointments, collecting payment, reviewing terms and conditions with client, plus establishing quality assurance for all duplicated CDs, printing, labeling, and graphic design set up.

§         Recorded and produced several local acts, as well as an original play entitled,  "Have Knowledge/Have Life", funded by the National Endowment of the Arts.

§         Provided full-service recording opportunities to aspiring artists, including use of: Tascam 32 channel M2600 Board and Da-88s, Akai DPS24,  24-Track Digital Recording and Mastering deck.

§         Performed Keyboard Sequencing services with Roland W-30, Korg 01w/Fd, Korg M1R, and Roland MT32.

§         Created original beats and percussion patterns with Yamaha RX5 and Korg i5M Interactive Music Module, DAT Mastering on Tascam DA30mkII and CD Mastering on Tascam CD-RW750 to red book standard as an in-house service.

§         Purchased and worked with various software recording and editing packages as needed, encompassing: Sonor4, Logic Express, Sample Tank, Sound Forge, Audio Cleaner, T-Racks and Garage Band.

§         Created Press Kits  - with Digital Photography/Resume/Cover letter/CD - used Videonics MX-1 Video Mixer and Videonics title maker 3000 for professional mixing and graphics.

§         Provided Copyright Service for sound recordings on SR form.

§         Set up sessions for recording;  assisted groups with proper use of microphones; and reviewed session with artists to help point out flaws for correction to provide the best product possible.

UNITED STATES ARMY,  Bitburg Army Base, West Germany                               1985-1987

United States Air Force Talent Showcase Keyboardist/Arranger

Responsible for set up, performance, breakdown, inventory, reloading of stage equipment, props, and garments Toured military bases worldwide to provide entertainment to soldiers on remote assignments.

§         Selected from a field of 200 competitors for touring band.

§         Adapted musical scores for ensemble. Played Rhodes piano and various Synthesizers.

§         Assisted technical staff with setting up sound and light equipment, and completed the Professional Entertainment Training Seminar.

§         Opened for recording artist Evelyn "Champagne" King in Trier, Germany (1987).

§         Contracted and produced sports / music video of Bitburg, GE Airbase - Barons Football Team (1986).

§         Organized, managed and performed with five-member group Windsong at Fort Polk, Louisiana (1983).

§         Setup concerts with band and opened at the NCO club for the Ohio Players.

§         Organized, managed, performed with and produced the "Star Fever Band" while stationed in Yongsan, Korea at Surobol Recording Studio (1981).

Professional Keyboard Player

Worked with professional eight-member group (featuring R&B, Jazz, Rock, Disco) playing Holiday Inn, College Circuit and Class AA Clubs (1977 to 1978). Played electric piano and provided background vocals.

§         Studied choreography under Frank Alston "The Drifters" and received music theory training at the "Professional Music Studio" located in Philadelphia under "Calvin Harris".

§         Performed on the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Opened for the "Tramps" (Disco Inferno), and performed live on WDAS Radio.
