Every project that comes through is very important to me. I treat it like my own material. I try to listen to everything that needs to fit in a certain place and make sure that those spaces don't become overcrowded. It is so easy with all the gadgets, to want to put everything you have in every song but ultimately it's like dumping everything in the refrigerator into your cake mix. Chicken, grapefruit juice and olives just won't taste good together. Same thing goes for mixing and producing. Keep it simple for success. Make sure that you have a good story line and a very clear punch line or hook. If someone can tell you what the title of the song is after one listen, you are on the right track.
