| Thanks for visiting and please check out the rest of the website. I am very honored to be a part of the 1985 and 1986 USAFE Showcase Talent teams. To be selected two years in a row as the only Army personnel on an Air Force talent team was an accomplishment in itself. If you have individual photos of the 1985 or 1986 team that you would like to send (in .jpg format) please do so. By winning the Base level competition and winning runner-up at regionals the opportunity to be selected from a pool of talent at the finals was a wonderful experience that supercedes shows like Star Search and American Idol. After the finals, selected individuals were invited to try out for the Showcase talent team. The auditions were designed to discover your ability to improvise with a one minute skit, see how well you played with other musicians, check out your dancing skills and in general how well you got along with everyone. The pace was fast and the timeline to put a show together with a team of talent virtually unknown to one another is a challenge that I am proud to say we all measured up to. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am competitive and embrace a good challenge. Being a member of the USAFE talent team provided the opportunity to see what it really is like to tour as a professional entertainer. We did all of the behind the scenes work as well to include being our own roadies, strapping the cargo plane down with the equipment, loading and unloading buses, setting up the stage, lighting and backup power. In other words we WORKED. The dividends were great though. We visited Torrehon Spain, Athens Greece, Holland, Insurlik Turkey, England, Berlin, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg France, Italy, and of course Minot North Dakota where the Worldwide talent Showcase was held. The meals were always excellent and our accommodations were very nice. Traveling on the bus brought us closer together and like any family we sometimes had enough of each other also. There were a lot of fun memories to draw from but pictures speak a thousand words so I hope that you enjoy and please sign or read our GUEST BOOK before you go anywhere else. 1985 USAFE Talent Team Steve Ragland - Keyboards Troy - Trumpet Chuck - Saxophone Tony - Trombone Nick Cody - Drums Fernando - Guitar Dwight Polk - Bass Guitar Hey it's been a while and I can't remember everyone's name so if you happen to see your picture and you were a part of the show just drop me a line so that I can update the website.
