Sleep someone once told me
Is just practice for dying
Nothing to do with the art of living
Another time I heard all about
How it restores and rejuvenates
A body needing sleep to be fully alive
Just one more thing about which
One has to be two-headed
If only I could manage
To let one of those heads sleep
While the other goes about its day
Only to have them trade places
When the nighttime beckons
