In recent years the government of Mozambique has eased its restriction on religion and any Jewish community in Mozambique will now able come out into the open. The "Jewish community" has officially regained control of the synagogue, though at the moment only visiting Jews practice there. Perhaps the reopening of the synagogue will result in a revival of the small Jewish presence there.
