Various Tropical Prediction Center columns for the
Mariners
Weather Log - published every three months
Some career-related experiences:
The Tropical Cyclone Motion-90 (TCM-90) experiment in (when
else?) 1990 - This involved a month at two military bases in
the Philippines and a month on Guam, all for studying the motion
of typhoons.
The TRACE-A Atmospheric Chemistry experiment in the summer
and fall of 1992 - My job was to determine winds from satellite
cloud motions while working at the National Hurricane Center.
However, my part of TRACE-A was rudely interrupted by...
...Hurricane
Andrew! I was part of the back-up team that flew to Washington
D.C. to take over hurricane forecasting if NHC got put out of
action. (After the storm was over and repairs were made, I was
able to resume my part in TRACE-A.)
The National Weather Service WSR-88D Training School in February
1994 - This involved a month in Norman, Oklahoma learning to
use the new Doppler radar.
The National Weather Service Forecast Development School
in April-May 1994 - This involved three weeks in Kansas City,
Missouri. One nice touch was that the hotel was right across
the street from the Royals' baseball stadium!

justify slapping some cheese on; on a perhaps lighter side, chicken

to lasagna; Ham and turkey sandwiches; corn; carrots; mashed
potatoes; and last, but certainly not least, peanut butter! My

rice mixes with HOT sausage.
