Individual
Services
HealingWorks maintains a network of over 200 professional
holistic practitioners who volunteer their time to see individuals,
couples, or families with low incomes for free private holistic health
or psychotherapy sessions. In order to be matched with a practitioner
who will see you free of charge, you must be unable to afford healthcare
services. Among the services available through HealingWorks volunteers
network are: Acupuncture, Art Therapy, Bereavement Work, Counseling,
Chiropractic, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Energy Healing, Feldenkrais, Hypnotherapy,
Meditation Facilitation, Movement Therapy, Polarity Therapy, Psychotherapy,
Reiki, Sound Healing, Spiritual Counseling, Stress Reduction, Yoga,
and more!
How Do I Get Free Individual Holistic Care?
-
If you are interested in being
referred to a practitioner for no-fee individual sessions, you must
first have an intake interview with one of our services coordinators
in order to determine your financial eligibility and your healthcare
needs.
-
If you think you may be eligible,
please call our Individual Services line at 212-532-0280 and leave
a message with your name and telephone number, or email a service
coordinator at indsvcs@healingworks.org.
Someone will contact you within one week to schedule an intake interview.
-
One to two weeks after your intake
interview, one of our service coordinators will contact you with the
name and telephone number of the professional holistic practitioner
who has volunteered to see you free of charge.
-
When you contact the practitioner,
you may schedule a session with them. You will be their no-fee client,
and will conduct all future scheduling with them personally rather
than with our office or service coordinators.
-
HealingWorks believes that healing
can effect your emotional, physical, and financial well-being. Your
holistic provider may consult you occasionally about your financial
situation, and when it improves, may ask you to consider becoming
a paying, rather than a no-fee client. Hoever, at no point will the
service be terminated because of your inability to pay.
