Statement of Purpose

Turning Point Youth & Family Counseling provides mental health and substance abuse services to youth, adults, couples and families in western Wake County and the surrounding communities. We are committed to the following dictums regarding the provision of services at this agency:

1) We offer the highest quality of services available based on the latest knowledge and experience drawn from the fields of mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, marriage and family therapy, and experiential education.

2) We are committed to providing services regardless of one’s ability to pay. Affordability of services is assured by carefully controlling costs so that all members of the community can benefit from the services we offer. Balance waivers are available to those who are eligible based on a sliding scale system.

3) We provide family centered services by engaging parents, spouses, caregivers and other family members in every aspect of programming, including individual sessions, family sessions, multi-family groups, family based experiential education, and multi-family relapse prevention groups.

4) All services have been developed and implemented according to the specific clinical and developmental needs of youth, adults, couples and families.

5) We always recommend the least restrictive level of care, and we utilize criteria established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) when appropriate.
