James Denny Townsend

Life is short ... fill it with those things that make your soul sing ...

For me, such a list begins with wordsmithing and playing music. I began my journalism career in 1982 with The Washington Times in Washington, D.C. Since then I've been a managing editor at several news organizations, most recently in the natural products industry.

Presently I am a freelance writer, editor, writing coach. For full resume and other details, click "editorial information" at the bottom of the page.

My first novel, "The Assassin's Dream," published by Five Star/Gale, has been out for a few years. I am at work on the second. Find out more and read or listen to excerpts at www.theassassinsdream.com.

Also, I have been a drummer all my life, playing and recording all styles of music, always reaching for tastefulness and honesty in my playing. For details and experience, please click "music" at the bottom of the page.
