The Avengers in London John Steed's Flat: 5 Westminster Mews, No 3 Stable Mews: Steed's address changed between the end of the Emma Peel series and the beginning of the Tara King series, but the filming site remained the same: Duchess Mews, a short street off Duchess Street near Broadcasting House on Portland Place. Steed's car was often shown parked along the section of garages show in View #1. The buildings at either end of the street show up frequently as Steed or Emma whirl away in their cars to new adventures. Tara King's Apartment: 9 Primrose Crescent: On the occasions when Steed needed to confer with Tara, he simply popped into the Bentley and zoomed north on Portland Place to Marylebone Road and zipped around the east side of Regents Park, north to Primrose Hill. Tara's apartment, actually No. 6 Chalfont Crescent, is located off Regents Park Road across from Primrose Hill (which offers an excellent view of the City of London). For the inquiring minds out there, Tara lived much closer to Steed than Emma. Emma's apartment (seen only in The Girl from Auntie) is a highrise in Highpoint, east of Hampstead Heath. Although I made a trek across Hampstead Heath one day, I wasn't able to get over to Highpoint, so it's on the to-do list for the next trip to London. Return to Photo Index Page Return to Front Page
