What! You don't want to stick around here? OK! Here are some links... ... to Other Avengers & Related Sites:
James Dawes' Avengers Home Page. James' page contains a wealth of information, photos and sound bites (some contributed by yours truly) on The Avengers!
Elan. For the last year, Alistair McGown has done a phenomenal job covering the progress of The Avengers movie on his website. You have to wonder if he now thinks the trouble was worth while. In the wake of The Debacle, Alastair continues to track reactions to the movie. David K. Smith's Avengers Page I'm tremendously happy to report that David Smith has resurrected his Avengers page. Before he had to pull the page off-line for personal reasons, David had developed one of the most original and thought-provoking pages on the 'net. David has written his own (often controversial) episode guides to the series and illustrated them with numbers of lovely screen captures from the series. Welcome back, David!
Mrs Peel, We're Needed! Maintained by Piers Johnson in Sidney, Australia.
The Avengers--Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir. Great photos from The Joker at this site by Florent Toniello at the University of Lille, France.
The Avengers: all things Emma Peel focuses on the Emma years, but includes screen grabs of the cars and comments on the gadgetry.
David Oliver's Avengers Page includes some unusual items like an interactive Avengers program guide and screen saver.
The New Avengers. Dave Matthews, collaborating with James Pimentel-Pinto, have put together an exciting site for the often overlooked The New Avengers.
The Professionals. Another collaboration by James Pimentel-Pinto and Dave Matthews for Brian Clemen's 1970's adventure series.
Wayne Burrows' Ultimate Avengers Link PageWayne plans to put together the ultimate set of links to Avengers pages, and he's got a great start: books, videos, other fan web sites, along with screen captures from the series.
Tracey's Avengers Picture Gallery. Nothing but screen grabs here, and all of Emma Peel, but the quality is so good that I wonder if Tracy doesn't enhance them in Photo Shop or PSP. Two cuts above the usual screen grab collection!
Noon: Doomsday. Mike Noon promises an information-filled site, not just another big photo gallery. The gems here (IMHO) are the texts of old magazine and newspaper articles on The Avengers.
... to Cult TV Web Sites (the magazines have carried good articles on The Avengers): ...to Merchandising Sites: A&E's The Original Avengers The fact that I personally believe that A&E is the finest cable network on television absolutely has nothing to do with the fact that they are releasing the entire Diana Rigg color season on video this year. Nor am I swayed in my opinion by the fact that the release of the b&W Rigg season may follow in 1999. However, A&E has a class-act website devoted to The Avengers and the video releases. And, hey! they have an on-line order blank, and if you have a working credit card, you can get the videos in your home (if you're in the US) within seven working days. Now---that's convenience! Chris Johnson sells everything Avengerish you can imagine, from the new Corgi Bentley/Steed figure, to calendars, to books and postcards, and the PAL Kult TV video releases of The Avengers and The New Avengers. Chris has an excellent reputation; him a buzz.
Slowdazzle's 1999 Avengers Calendar What classier way to keep track of your appointments next year than with Slowdazzle's Avengers calendar? Also worth checking out are their calendars for for other British cult tv shows.
... to Sites Without a Category, but seem to be Avengers Related... maybe...
Emma Peel Pale Ale, a beer recipe. I'm not sure I even remember Emma drinking a beer... wine, champagne, the occasional martini, yes, but beer? Still the scientific formula alone would keep Emma happy for days. If anyone stirs up a batch of this, let me know.
