 |
All parties meet at the marina dock by
12:00
 |
Bruce to reserve ferry for Thursday no
earlier
than noon and Sunday no later than noon per Rick's
request
|
 |
Purchase fishing license and ferry pass
|
 |
Load gear on the ferry and depart for our
campsite across the lake
|
|
 |
After a ferry ride of about 40 minutes
land on shore
 |
proceeded by land to campsite "Proctor" less
than a mile up Hazel Creek in the Smoky Mountains National Park.

The camp site is usually not crowded at this time

Actual Trip
Seven men challenged the weather and the forest in
2003; all surviving with memories of big fires,
awesome stew & chili & river burritos, daily hikes
between 4 and 12 miles, trout skunking, waking each
morning with the sound of a flock of turkeys clucking,
discovering the value in using facts when making a
point, hauling the carts around the lake, taking a mud
plunge to save a backpack, loading the cars in
freezing rain, seeing coyote, pheasant, grouse, Grey
fox, deer, Russian black boars, and turkey. See
pictures of 2003 Hazel Creek Trip.
