Pulaski Volunteers

Company G, 8th Georgia
Regiment Infantry, C.S.A.

David Green Fleming, my great-great grandfather, served in the 8th Georgia Regiment’s Company G, The Pulaski Volunteers, from its inception early in 1861 to the close of the Civil War.

He was at both battles at Manassas and at Lee’s surrender at Appomattox Court House, rising along the way from company private to Ordnance Sergeant of the Regiment.

n the summer of 1879, his five-part history of the Company appeared in The Hawkinsville Dispatch, Pulaski County, Georgia.
