    Dear President:

It is my sincere pleasure to offer you congratulations on the 10th anniversary of
your Toastmasters Club.  Please express my best wishes to your members during
this special time, and take the opportunity to share this occasion the leaders of the
community, along with former and prospective Club Members.

As Toastmasters, we all remember our first speech in our Club.  Our words may
now be dim memory, but the feelings are vivid:  the nervous tension made our
knees shake and our heart pound.  We hoped nobody would notice, but we stood
the test and amazingly did not die!  The applause surprised us, the smiling faces, the
pats on the back, and the handshakes amazed us.  We had risked making a fool of
ourselves in front of a group of strangers and we tasted the joy of accomplishment.

This epitomized for me why Toastmasters is the greatest organization in the world
and why I have chosen as our them for 1997-1998: Toastmasters: The Thrill of
Success.  In no other organization can we receive supportive, helpful assessment
while building skills that will help us feel the Thrill of Success regardless of our
    path in life.

Through you effort and example, others are encouraged to better themselves and
the environment around them.  I challenge you to share Toastmasters
with everyone you know so they too can feel the Thrill of Success.

    Sincerely,

    Len Jury, DTM
    International President,  1997-1998
