To Alice
---------

Red lips, blue eyes, yellow hair
still smiling from the black and white.
All gone but photos, yellowed, curling.
A virus shared her in the lake,
stole her breath,
left her in the wheezing box.
Still pleasing, curling, yellow hair
left lying on the pillow,

always twenty.
