Sleepless in Atlanta (well, okay, a suburb)...
Call me a sentimental f**k, but I dare you to read this page and not break down...
NYS DOS, OFPC, In Line-Of-Duty Deaths. Pay special attention to how long the list of line-of-duty deaths is for 2001. Then tell me you don't support the war in Iraq.
So while we're on the subject of music (I'm a music FREAK, so just ignore the next coupla lines if music bores you - wait, if music bores you, WHY ARE YOU VISITING MY SITE - you DON'T BELONG HERE! lol!), another song that just rocks my world is
Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse. Killer groove.
'Nuther song I like is
Hangin' Around by Counting Crows. Reminds me of things that I like to be reminded of.
Anyone else as big a fan of
Mack the Knife as I am? Anyone, I mean,
anyone can sing this song and I will love them forever. This song is like sex and love and a good steak and a good beer all rolled in one for me.... well, when I say
anyone, I mean anyone with a good backup band...
Anyway, I was looking for a link I could post so you would know what I was talking about, but I have this bracelet that I wear always that is like one of those golfer bracelets - it's copper and turns my skin green, ya' know - but it's a 9/11 memorial bracelet. It has the name of a FDNY member whose life was lost that day - FF Kenneth T. Watson from FNDY Engine 214. I read a bit about him on the web after I got the bracelet and I think I remember that he married his high school sweetheart, Susan and they had several children. Anyway, strangely enough, it seems that not many people have these bracelets. I saw a couple on sale on Burdine's in Citrus Park, FL after Christmas (hello!?! like that would be a good Christmas gift? "Oh yes, your Christmas gift is a remembrance of death! Don't you love it?" Then again, I guess that's what Christmas is, huh?
So, I thought about rescuing the bracelets from the sale, but I didn't. Now I really wish I had.
Man, I love this Blogger stuff. I can save my favorite quotes and comment on them and all that! So, I'm reading a new book,
Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty and I found a wonderful quote:
"...you can only be in a bad mood for so long before you have to face up to the fact that it isn't a bad mood at all. It's just your sucky personality."
Oh yeah, forgot to comment on the
Joe Millionaire follow-up show. Looked great, cute, etc. Cute couple, blah blah blah. Then we find out on
Regis & Kelly that they aren't together anymore? How long ago did they meet again? A week maybe?!? Someone's got some issues!
Tired, going to bed. Early for me!
I've been reading
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant and came upon a great idea... The wonderful things in life are like pearls on a necklace. The bad things in life are like the knots that keep the pearls in place. Think about that!
