This recipe was originally obtained from the Devon Rex Breeder's Email list  several years ago. We have slightly modified it to meet our requirements.

The purpose of Glop is to add much needed fat/calories to the Devon's diet; this is especially important during pregnancy and for the little ones while weaning.   It is also good if the devon is recovering from an illness or just as a treat.

Glop will set to a jelly like consistency and may be kept for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.  It can also be frozen in mini-ice cube trays and either served this way or thawed in the microwave when needed.  Serving it frozen is good for weaning since they will know and love the taste but have to bite at it. This usually helps the babies discover dry food very quickly.

Needed ingredients; (Tbs = Tablespoon)

1) 1/4 oz package = 1 Tbs or 15 ml of Gelatin mix

2) 12 oz = 1 1/2 cup or 354 ml boiling water

3) 12 oz = 1 1/2 cup or 354 ml of KMR®, 2nd Stepo® or Feline Rebound®

4) 2 Tbs 0r 30 ml of mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip)

5) 2 Tbs plain or vanilla yogurt (do not use citrus flavored or lite)

6) 1 Tsp or 15 ml of honey. Our guys really love the taste of honey.

Directions:

1) Wisk together gelatin with boiling water

2) Add evaporated milk or goat's milk or  KMR 2nd Step® or Feline Rebound®.  If KMR is used whisk KMR with boiling water first.

3) Wisk in mayonnaise, yogurt and optional honey.

4) Wisk vigorously for 1 minute.

5) Cover and put in refrigerator for about 8 hrs or freezer until solid. Freezing the GLOP makes for a wonderful treat while the babies are teething or when its hot in the summer.
