In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Medearis of the County of Clermont and State of Ohio considering the uncertainty of this mortal live, now being of sound mind and memory blessed by Almighty God for the same.

Do make and before publish my last Will and testament in manner and from following, that is to say.

I give and bequeath and unto my beloved wife Nancy Medearis during her natural life, a comfortable support from the proceeds of the sale of the real and personal property belonging to me the said Thomas Medearis.

My will and desire are that my five daughters, Emilia Smith, Elizabeth Mattox, Patey B. Hymer, Nancy Laycock and Sarah Lewis and Charles Medearis, my son, have an equal portion of the proceeds of the sale of the real and personal property belonging to me.

Let it be understood that my son Malachi (now deceased) having by mutual agreement already received his portion, I nevertheless bequeath unto his three sons, Saunders Medearis, John Medearis and James Medearis one dollar each.

It is my desire that my son John Medearis share an equal proportion of the proceeds of my estate after forty dollars should be deducted out, he having received the above amount by mutual agreement.

I do hereby appoint Reuben Laycock and Elijah Mattox executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 12th day of Dec. in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Six.
